The Jewish Concept Of Holiness:
What Is Its Organizing Principle

The laws of holiness are the laws between man and God. These laws are most experienced in the areas of food (kashrut), marital intimacy (laws regarding mikvah and family purity), and time (Shabbat). Although these laws appear to be arbitrary and random, they are connected and organized by physically and conceptually separating life from death. Asher will explain this organizing system in detail, which may assist secular Jews in better understanding Judaism's intellectual and spiritual depth and profundity.
